How to Write Effective Sales Copy

Are you unsure if your sales copy is doing the trick? Your marketing materials may be lacking the neccessary push that drives sales. The following sales copy writing tips will help you polish your marketing materials until they shine: Sales copy needs to have a solid call to action. In other words, you need to clearly communicate what you want customers to do, and then faciliate that action by making it easy to do. Determine exactly what it is you want to achieve in the sales copy (gather contact information, make a sale, get them to sign up for a sample, commit to a trial period), and then clearly state what they should do (log in, register, call a number, visit the store, follow a link, enter a coupon code, etc.).
Your sales copy should explain why the customer wants this product, not how you created it. Don’t waste time explaining how you made this product; explain why the customer wants it and why the customer will be glad he bought it. All of the focus should be on why the customer wants to try a service or purchase your product.
Seize the moment; incent the customer to act now. Establish a time limit for the offer so the customer must act now or miss out, or else emphasize the cost advantages to acting now. Instill fear that the product or service is only available for a short time, or that there is so much competition for it that supplies may not last, or that the cost of procrastinating will be high.
Good sales copy vividly describes the benefits of buying a service or product. Tell all the details of how the customer will enjoy the product if he or she does buy or how unhappy the customer will be if he or she puts off buying. It doesn’t matter which angle you take, but in either case you’ll want to compell the customer such that he will feel like he cannot put off the purchase for another moment because it will be unbearable to wait.
Test your sales copy until you find just the right tone and tactics; you’ll be glad you did!
